Intel SE440BX-2 Bios

Hi guys. Could someone please upload the P16 Bios for me for the Intel SE440BX-2 motherboard? I'ts been removed from Intel's website like the rest of their retired products and I thought I had it backed up but I cant seem to find it. Thanks :) EDIT: Even the P17 Bios should be ok. I've only ever …

Re: Sound Blaster 16 CT1740 Problem

Higher ripple rejection is better. Negative regulator is a small transistor sized thing (TO92 package), 79L05 written on it. Ok great. Thanks mate. What I'm confused about though is that my card appears to have 2 positive voltage regulators and yet I've read about there being 1 positive and 1 …

Re: Sound Blaster 16 CT1740 Problem

Hi, not sure what to say. :( If an 78xx/79xx is faulty, it either shorts or passes the full voltage. These voltage regulators aren't expensive and can be bought in your local electronics shop. Just be sure to get the right parts. Some stabis can provide 0.5A, 1A or 1.5A (or 2A). So also better …

Sound Blaster 16 CT1740 Problem

Hey guys. So I have a Sound Blaster 16 CT1740 which was getting quite hot and also not playing sound out of the left channel. Due to this I replaced the Dac, Amp, Yamaha OPL Sound Chip and 2 larger capacitors located near the volume wheel. All with new parts. I haven't tested it yet as wanted to …

Re: Do I have a bad AWE64 Gold?

Small update: this adapter doesn't fit the AWE64 Gold, the male RCA plugs are a bit too far apart. This adapter fits nicely, with just a hairs gap between the RCA plugs when inserted. I haven't compared the sound yet to my overpriced, non-gold version. Glad I didn't buy that small adapter as I was …

Re: Terry Pratchett's Color of Magic

in Milliways
Amazing! Didn't realise that there were also other movies and some animated films. I'll be sure to check them out. Shame it never took off in Australia which is strange as our television is filled with UK shows on a daily basis. @Errius, here you go 😀

Re: Roland Super MPU64 Question

I just looked into the UM-880. Very nice unit. Also read that it accepts a 110-240V universal power supply but looking at the AC 100 connection it appears to use the standard 3 prong PC PSU cable. Not sure how accurate it is that it accepts 240V considering that those cables don't come with an …

Re: Roland Super MPU64 Question

Was talking about this switch box; https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/m.aliexpress.com/item/689901231.html I actually really like the look of midi modules stacked up as well as a mixer with the cables visible. Keropi had a good photo of his setup in another thread <3 Btw, BadMojo, hope you've been …

Terry Pratchett's Color of Magic

in Milliways
So I'm browsing Amazon Prime and I come across a 2 part tv series called the Color of Magic. Lo and behold, it's a movie length adaption of Terry Pratchett's Discworld! Got super excited (I love Discworld) and started watching it last night. Can't believe I never knew about this and yet it was …

Re: Roland Super MPU64 Question

So a switch box @ 10" x 5" x 2" and a 4 in 1 mixer @ 4.5" x 1.5" x 4" with a bunch of wires running between them and half the capabilities of a Proper mixer @  19” x 1.75” x 6.5” sounds like a better option to you? I wouldn't exactly say a 19" mixer compared to the combination of a switch box and …

Re: Roland Super MPU64 Question

YawetaG, your reply didn't show up when I made my reply. What you stated is why I choose to use a mixer over a switch box. Line noise even if it is only slight and also due to the mixer allowing me to gain volume plus have more control over my sound. I also can do things like network Doom for 2 …

Re: Roland Super MPU64 Question

Because there will be a MT-32, CM-64, SC-55MKII, MU100, SB Live, SB Pro2, AWE32, AWE64 Gold and Xonar DS plugged into the mixer. 1 larger mixer allows all to be plugged in without having to unplug anything depending on what I'm using at the time. All will then output to a set of Pioneer speakers. …
