Re: Most demanding game for DOSBox

Mechwarrior 2 with SVGA can be pretty demanding. Magic Carpet SVGA is worse though. Now even though I own it, I've never tried playing it in DOSBox, but what about Terra Nova? I hear that is pretty demanding. Of course you've also got WC3, WC4 and Privateer 2. Then there are more modern games like …

Re: OS X performance issues?

What output mode are you using? When I was using OS X on Macbook Pro, OpenGL looked good, but ran like crap. overlay always seems to be the way to go from a performance perspective my experience. The same goes for windows.

Re: CVS build on Mac OS X

Ahhhhh... I see now. When I bring up the GUI with the startui parameter - the keyboard button isn't available. However when I bring it up from within the software with either my GUI.COM mod or a keyboard shortcut - there is a button called "Keyboard" in the UI. Thats odd. EDIT: I found the code that …

Re: CVS build on Mac OS X

I thought you could get to the mapper from there - but you are right. Instead try applying these two patches I created. They essentially add two new .COM files on the Z: drive. One is called GUI.COM and the other is called MAPPER.COM. You can guess what each one does. Hopefully this patch can make …

Re: CVS build on Mac OS X

This could be because the syntax of a lot of options in the Prefences/Config file has changed in the latest CVS snaphots. You should probably take the time to run "config -writeconf" from within DOSBox and examine the new file format and adjusting it appropriately.

Re: Some issues with the DOSBox MacOS port

Well if the nightly Intel OS X builds for VLC were compiling, I would say download one of those: http://nightlies.videolan.org/ But they aren't so I can't. Question: When I compile a custom version of DOSBox, what libraries are required in order for my custom version to have ZMBV recording support?

general_vagueness wrote: also, awesome avatar darkgamorck, did iD really put that in their video games? I only played Doom and Doom II Yeah. It's in Wolfenstein 3D. Just start the game and you'll see it in the series of intro screens leading up to the main menu.

Re: Swaping Disks during Installs...

Maybe there needs to be a seperate forum for newbie questions. And we could even sticky that forum out the yin-yang with answers to recurring threads like these. It seems clear that a good chuck of our new users seem unwilling to use the search functionality and search for the million other threads …

Re: Mac OS X crash on start up :( HALP PLEZ!

Yeah I wouldn't bother with DOSBox on a G3 anyway. I remember last time I tried that prior to there being an official OS X port and that was horrid. At least on a 600mhz iBook it was quite bad. Not worth the effort. EDIT: On and fyi, arts has nothing to do with OS X. Arts is an audio daemon that …
