FWIW, I can replicate this issue on multiple Linux boxes. So far the only thing I've found that can work around it is to install dosbox-sdl2 (the name of the AUR package in Arch and its derivatives): https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/dosbox-sdl2/ That resolves the issue for me completely.

Both games seem to work fine under 0.73 here. You'll need to provide more detail regarding your dosbox.conf along with the settings you used for the games.

What output mode are you using? When I was using OS X on Macbook Pro, OpenGL looked good, but ran like crap. overlay always seems to be the way to go from a performance perspective my experience. The same goes for windows.

It's funny. The version of Carmageddon that I have, doesn't require a CD to be mounted before playing in DOSBox if you performed a full installation.

Yeah thats different in the CVS as well. The Mapper is part of the new internal GUI and not accessible using the original shortcut nor with the command line parameter. Try using -startui instead.

This could be because the syntax of a lot of options in the Prefences/Config file has changed in the latest CVS snaphots. You should probably take the time to run "config -writeconf" from within DOSBox and examine the new file format and adjusting it appropriately.

Using the default keymap settings on my Macbook Pro, it looks like the appropriate key combination is CTRL-F4. Of course you may need to use the fn key as well depending upon your keyboard and settings within OS X.
