Well, after checking any broken connection with a microscope and seeing no issue, i installed the latest official driver from 3dfx for the V2, now everything works. Why do i always solve things in the weirdest way?

One of the benefits of later drivers is the optimizations built in that are meant to alleviate inefficiencies in game code and shaders. It's possible that the newer drivers are simply better at optimizing away whatever is causing the game to lag in performance. It could equally be brute force …

I added a 6800 GS instead of a 6600 GT to see if i could improve performances in bloodlines and... Nope, the game behaves in the same way even though the GS is more powerful and not by a small margin, i take it bloodlines was just a mess nobody could play at constant 30 or 60fps at the time.

To me it looks like it barely touches, go with the pad idea and if that solves it then you can try some copper shimming for a more effective solution or an aftermarket cooler.

I would do some copper shimming and see if the temps improve, those temps are definitely not normal.

I kept agp from 2002 up to 2005. Started with a 9700 pro and after that died I swapped it for a 6600 GT, then after that died too I moved to a new system with PCIe. I'm surprised by the fact that the P4 served me for that long without me complaining too much if anything.

The 8800 GT was a beast. I spent a lot of money on an 8800 GTS at launch, only to see the 8800 GT come out shortly after and demolish it. I'm honestly surprised, a single 8800gt is capable of running Arkham asylum at 1280x1024 with high physx all maxed out at 45fps, with 2 it stays at 60 all the …

Sadly the 6600 isn't unlockable, the frame rate isn't bad like 80% of the times, this game is simply unoptimized and runs at like 25 in some scenes.

I started modifying an old case that will host a P4 and 6600GT system, it was devoid of any hole for ventilation and this time I went for a second intake fan that will go from down up instead of the usual side panel fan.
