Re: PowerVR Fun Thread

I was looking at old Dreamcast press screenshots and noticed it blurs vertically for interlaced mode as a form of flicker reduction (sometimes mistakenly hyped as anti-aliasing by certain fans) BUT!!! I've noticed it applies it before the dither so we get a weird, dithered, flicker-reducted 16bpp …

Re: PowerVR Fun Thread

I managed to get Expendable running without inverted colors with my m3D PCX-2. I'm not sure if I read it here, but the force 16-bit textures setting does the trick, then the game runs amazingly slow whenever an inverted color non-transparent transparency is on screen. I'm thinking there should be …

Re: Frame Counter software for Win98?

On the polys per second benchmarking methods. I wonder if it'd even be interesting to take a min-max-avg poly count per object for each engine or game and count the maximum number of objects on screen. I don't follow. What object? Who cares about maximum number of objects? I can imagine putting …

Re: Frame Counter software for Win98?

Pretty sure the thg guy is just talking about regular fps, not per-frame timing. If you want more resolution, grab a capture card and some software to analyze the output. Like an overlay that color-codes frames and so on. I've been using Premiere Pro CS 5.5 for years to edit capture footage and …

THG tool is more info than I had before. I was thinking I could have FRAPS take random screenshots for framerate measurements and I could go by standard polycounts per frame, or root out interviews about each individual game for any stats I could find. Thanks for the tip for expendable, I saw a …

Frame Counter software for Win98?

Hello, I have been reading all of the benchmark and comparison threads searching for some sort of standard solution for benchmarking Windows 98, SGL, 3DFX, Direct X, Open GL games and hardware. I am currently stalled with Rage software's Expendable. I see benchmark charts out there, but can't find …

Re: Help with running Biohazard PowerVR edition jp !

Ok, I was wondering about that. The host card's output is all that matters though right? Not it's rendering or resolution capabilities? Hah, I can't imagine how I'd even connect an M3D to a laptop, clever wiring scheme? -edit- Does Biohazard for Power VR not work with Direct 3D at all?

That's pretty interesting. I didn't know there was a PowerVR version of Biohazard, is it playable by English speakers? If the game didn't control worse worse than basically anything else before or after it I'd be curious to try this out with my M3D and my Kyro II 3D Prophet even though that probably …
