Severance Bod requires DX8 for installation but runs fine even if the machine has only dx7 installed. Sometimes it seems to me like a marketing thing to require a newer dx-version (but does not make any use of it)

OS/2 is an interesting topic. I did several installs. I own the original Floppy Versions from 1.3 1.31 2.0 2.10 2.11 3.0. With a good MGA 450/550 you still get OS/2 and WINOS/2 Drivers so you can run Win3x Apps with highres and true colors, even if matrox dropped win3x support with G400 cards. I …

I just swapped my MGA G450 AGP-LP against a FX5200. 3D is a lot better and OpenGL has a working VSYNC. I will probably stay on that FX-5200 because it has Amithlon-Support with Kernel 310 too. nice!

Diakatana should bei DeusEX engine, which is Unreal engine...should support more than opengl or am I wrong here? Daikatana looks really beutiful, but it does not run stable, it always crashes in the first level, don't know what the issue is here.

USB floppy drive. You can read and write sector based image files without issues. At least on Linux you can. No special software or hardware is necessary to create or write them back. No 5,25" USB Floppy Drive available. I currently transfer diskimages to the real machine and write the pc-booters …

Winimage img/ima are just raw sector dumps. You don't need anything special to write them to disk. Win-Image can not address floppy-drives connected to a catweasel-controller. New machines do not support two floppys in the bios. that's my point. I need to write all images via software for the …

I think I should use uncompressed video in 320/200 or less with 256 colors or 256 greyscales with 8khz mono-sound. I need a solution to generate such files out of e.g. DVD's and a player that can run this on a 286/8 from HDD. Space is not a problem. I have 4x2GB on that A2286.

Thank you, I am using amiga-explorer for small files too... this is a transfer directly to the amiga via win95-pc. so no A2286 required. I will ckeck everything ET4000 related and perhaps stay on that card.
