Never noticed that something needed is missing on Quake2. And early low level 3D accelerated mipmapping is atrocious. Even DooM had better darking grades to the distance.

I really love MURI. It is a prime game to make a DOS port. Oh by the way Seek and Destroy is one of my favourite DOS game. Lost it years ago. Now rediscovered it. Strange that it is not more famous and did not produce sequels.

By the way MURI is unplayably slow with Tulatin 1400. Like how the hell can they make games soooo uneffective cpu unwise. At least Core2 and Atom runs it good. And at least it supports XP.

Had a Voodoo. But then also went to Riva TNT route. After that Geforce 2MX. Never played any locked exclusive Glide games so never missed that voodoo.

Sorry for my definition. For integrated i meant all video controllers thad did not reside in a separate card. Meant integrated in motherboard. Not only integrated in the chipset.

By the way. I am a total idiot. I forgot that those integrated XP video drivers only had Direct3D but not OpenGL. So a fresh install on VIA Blade XP drivers from vogonsdrivers really solved all those problems.

With Windows. It is usually the best bet to make all games and not so integrated programs PORTABLE. I usually just install Ulocker Winrar Ultraiso. To my windowses 98SE XP 7. All else is just two directories games, tools.

PacardBell or not. Everybody had beige boxes with somekind of cpu/ram/hdd/fdd/cd back then. The 3D accelerator defined the "gaming pc".

2k runs pretty snappy in a P5 166+ with 64+ RAM. XP runs pretty snappy in P3 with 256+. Never came across any hardware like that... VXD... what hardware? Have many comuters with XP in a FAT32 hard drive with integrated dual boot to MS-DOS 7.10. Even one partition.
