Re: NVIDIA NV1 Wrapper

Wasn't the NV1 very much related to the hardware in the Sega Saturn? Would the various emulators for that help in any way? I'm guessing not, but just mentioned it! It was, though I don't believe they were exactly aligned, I believe both used the weird "quads" for rendering though. My recollection …

Re: NVIDIA NV1 Wrapper

Very interesting. Never heard of this emu until now. If it aims to be a PC emu that supports multiple types of video and sound cards, it's the ideal PC (Windows) emulator I've dreaming about, but never had the skill/patience to write. But so far, DOSBox is so easy to work with and the most straight …

Re: NVIDIA NV1 Wrapper

Interesting. Anyone have any success adding PVR support to DOSBox while I was gone? While this is interesting, I know next to nothing of how PowerVR cards work on a register level. Since I'm heading out the door, I'll have to look at it later today. Shogun

Re: NVIDIA NV1 Wrapper

Okay, I know it's old, but I kinda want to keep this in one thread if that's okay. If not, feel free to close it, and we'll start anew. Thanks to Stiletto going though so much trouble tracking me down, I've got my paws on some more useful information. So now that I have official docs on the outer …

Re: Sinistar on a Riva128

Odd. I could get Quake GL to run under a Riva128 and a Voodoo2 back in the late 90's. Both worked perfectly. For the Riva128 I was using Diamond Multimedia's drivers at the time. They tended to work better. I hope that I can still find them so I can post here. I have the feeling that the problems …

Re: Sinistar on a Riva128

I got my dual monitor setup working and the game runs fine on my Voodoo3. So at this point, I guess it's fine not to worry about it. The only thing I find annoying about the Riva128 was the buggy texture support. The card runs Gunman Chronicles nicely but sometimes the textures will flicker. The …

Dual monitoring issues (Voodoo 3 and Riva 128)

I only have a little bit of experience with dual monitoring on Windows 98 (SE), so please bear with me. My retro gaming PC has a dual boot of Windows 98 SE and XP, and is in actuallity a Dell B1000r. So far, dual monitoring works differently on both OSes. 1. Win98: Each card works okay and I can …

Re: Sinistar on a Riva128

Still not working. I tried the demo version, but that showed me some heavy gfx corruption before freezing. My assumption is that mipmapping was enabled. Games like Re-Volt start bugging out when mipmapping is enabled. Doesn't make sense why because mipmapping is just a form of texture antialiasing …

Re: Sinistar on a Riva128

Well, I think the cooling is fine. The PC is a dust magnet, but I think I've managed to get it clean enough for decent circulation. The game always freezes at exact moments, which are the instant you choose the config menu or the instant you go ingame where only one 3D frame is displayed, then …

Sinistar on a Riva128

It's been a long battle, but I finally got my NVIDIA Riva128 to work properly under Windows98. Most of the problems came from OpenGL applications while Direct3D worked fine, but lately I've been having problems getting Sinistar Unleashed to run on my Riva128. I've never had one problem out of any …
