I like big hard drives, you can no-cd your games and save wear and tear on your drive and more important the actual CD's!

Is it fair to say with the lack of any other ideas that it seems like the midi cable is my problem? I dont mind getting a replacement if thats whats at fault, but wasnt sure if I am doing something wrong or missed something?

The card works fine in Doom & Decent both Sfx & Midi from the card but as soon as I try to use an external device I loose my music. I think in this context its different, doubt something as old as a ne2000 could work something out like what type cable is attached, remember most of these still had a BNC connection.
