Snover wrote: > If it didn't work any better then you've got a rather serious problem, >heh As far as running old programs with sound, I think I do. The card works fine with Windows programs using Windows drivers. I had a Sound Blaster Live! X-Gamer card before I bought the Turtle Beach card. I …

Re: WordPerfect

Just for fun, I checked out the printing option. I went into the printer settings, edited the printer, selected port and told it to write to a file. There's a 'prompt for file name' option that I selected. Then I tried printing and the text goes straight to a file in the printer's format ready for …

VDMSound with Windows ME and Santa Cruz

Thought I'd post my results trying out the Windows 98 version of VDMSound on my system. Here are my system's specs: * Motherboard ASUS P2-99 AGP Motherboard * Processor type and speed Pentium III (500 MHz if I remember correctly) * Amount and type of RAM 64 MB * Video board w/ RAM amount and type …

Re: Turtle Beach sound card and DOS games

I found the Windows 98 version of VDMSound. Unfortunately, it didn't work any better. Thanks for the suggestion though. Maybe a future version will work someday (or I'll get a new sound card eventually).

Re: WordPerfect

After some experimenting, I finally got the DOS 6.0b version of WordPerfect loading in DOSBox. It may even be more stable than running it directly under Windows ME. (At least when it crashes, it doesn't crash the whole system.) I needed the following command line switches to get it working: wp /R / …

Re: Turtle Beach sound card and DOS games

in DOS
Does VDMSound work on a Windows ME machine? I'd looked at the web site for it before and I thought from the info there it only ran on Windows NT/Windows 2000. I suppose I could always do without the sound on the older programs. I was just wondering if anyone may have had a similar problem and fixed …

Turtle Beach sound card and DOS games

in DOS
I have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz in a pentium III PC running Windows ME. There's a legacy sound support program that comes with it that's supposed to allow you to run old games and programs that worked with OPL2/3 chips or old Soundblaster cards. When I try to use it, I have some weird things happen …

WordPerfect

Well it's not really a gaming question, but it is an application. Was just wondering if anyone had successfully managed to get a DOS version of WordPerfect running in DOSBox. WordPerfect works very poorly under Windows ME and I was wondering if it might be more stable running through DOSBox. I …

games with num lock key

I have some old shareware/freeware video games like Viper. Some of them use the num lock and scroll lock keys to start or end game play or do other things during the game. Can't seem to get DOSBox to recognize when I hit those keys though. They work okay in Windows ME (it can recognize the keys and …

registering for bulleting board

Just had some serious trouble getting registration for this board to work. For some reason it send a URL to activate the account and the URL wouldn't work unless when I went through and changed every "&" in the message to "&". Thought I'd mentioned in case anyone else is having registration problems …
