My perfect PCMCIA card would have SB and DB50XG compatible mode in DOS and Windows 98. I have plenty different PCMCIA cards that either SB compatible or WT only (Roland and Yamaha).

Pod Gold runs perfectly on my Voodoo5 with Amigamerlin 2.9 drivers on Win98SE.

AMD CPUs are not the best choice to run 3DFX cards. You will always have compatibility problems. For Voodoo you need to buy Intel.

The best combo would be: GUS Extreme + Roland MPU401/AT -> Roland SC-55, CM32-L, Yamaha MU50. It works the best with almost any game.

If it says SCC-1 on the board than you have SCC-1. Otherwise it would say SCC-1A. SCC-1B is not a card, it's a software bundle for SCC-1.

I had Athlon CPU on one of mine PCs, I've had too many problems with 3DFX games, so I had to replace it with P3. In my opinion P3 500 is very slow to play BUILD engine games on HiRes. In my primary rig P3 1GHz I still want something faster for those games. For the sound card I would recommend AWE64 …

My russian Win98SE can not be updated too. Will try english version then. It's good to have this update server, even after I install unofficial SP2 it still can download some updates including IE.

Try DosNavigator. It has so many features like nothing else! There is also one VERY small program calls VolkovCommander, which I drop onto my boot floppy disk with MS-DOS for troubleshootings.

I don't reember how I did my installation on SCP-55 on Libretto. But I did't use any 3rd party card services drivers, Libretto supports it on hardware level, I think. Try to install it on fresh Win98. I recommend you to turn off SB in the BIOS before reinstalling Win98, so H330 port woud be free. …

F2bnp, 200SBi was about $400. It's the best Voodoo2 board 'cous it has heatsinks on it and it's SLI and it's QUANTUM3D. I have X-24 also but it needs something to cool it down like extra fans in the system. That's why I desided to switch it over to 200SBi. I wish there would be Win98 drivers for …

My rig: Asus P2B 1GHz PIII 512MB RAM GeForce3 Ti200 Quantum3D Voodoo2 200SBi Gravis Ultrasound Extreme Roland MPU401AT with OPL4 Roland SC-55 Roland CM-64 Yamaha MU50 This rig covers most of the games that were made for DOS and Win98 😀

I use GF 3 Ti200 AGP in my primary rig. Very fast for any DOS game, and so far didn't have any problems with it 😀 Before I was using ET6000 and ET6100 TV out. I have liked them a lot. Much faster then any S3 Virge boards.
