Well, Matrix Cubed only uses the Sound Blaster or Adlib for the music, yes, beyond that, it uses PC Bleeper. It's how the game was coded. I suggested the Tandy sound, 'cause I know it was vastly different in Countdown, from the PC Bleeper sounds.

With Matrix Cubed, and indeed most of the old Gold Box games, if you just simply delete their config file, when you next run the program you will be able to re-choose its sound configuration. You might enjoy the Tandy 3-Voice sound in Cubed better, but I don't know.

Markus - I can think of one set of games that are an exception to this in particular, though it did not Require a coprocessor, Falcon 3.0, and its add-ons required a math-coprocessor in order to use its "Realistic" Flight Model.

Loadfix allocates the specified amount of memory away from programs within dos box. Some programs need it to be able to run properly.

You should always check the Games Compatibility Database before posting here. Sierra's sound drivers are often buggy. KQ6 has a nice, easy work around, though.... Check the afformentioned Compatibility Database for clues.

Indeed, after all the hassle with this one, it'd be nice if someone could place my latest comment in the compatibility database before all the, now obsolete comments of the game having more issues than a psychiatric ward. 😀 It's not as hard to see as one might think, though. 😀
