Re: AMD drops the mic

in Milliways
Er, right. By "mainstream" what I had in mind was actually either workstation crowds or gamers/"enthusiasts" (where the PC market has been actually growing despite what Apple is saying...). And having competent 4-cores replacing dual-cores everywhere would be most welcome still.

Re: AMD drops the mic

Pretty sure this post already said that Intel can lower prices if need be: http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=51299&start=20#p548213 OK, I wonder, why do you see it from Intel, the corporation 's perspective though? I mean.. y'know, we as consumers usually speak from the consumer's …

Just another tease... but this was the OFFICIAL LAUNCH and they're boasting some SERIOUS CLAIMS there. How could they? Is this the biggest scam in history? ... An IPC improvement of 52%, surpassing the 40% target (granted, that's over the poor predecessor). Outperforming $1k i7-6900K. Yadda yadda …

Looks like the samples are already in the hands of reviewers. Just waiting til March 2nd for the NDA lift. Two weeks from now. Ahh... long time no checking the forum. Forgot where the one thread with the "Zen" title on it was, so here goes... Yeah, the hype is getting too big to ignore. https://videocardz.com/66065/first-cpu-z-screenshot-of-ryzen-cpu-leaked Also some recent leaked benches on the site. At 65~95W... these …

Re: Random crashes withe RE-volt

Before proceeding to game issues, you have a few assumptions that needed to be challenged/tested there: 1) "stable overclock" (I know, it's the legendary Celeron 300A etc...) 2) "mismatched SLI that shouldn't have any problems" etc So you know what the first steps to do -- eliminate those …

Re: My Socket 7 Voodoo2 SLI System

Hi and welcome to vogons. :) What a nice system you got there. The InWin AT case looks particularly well-designed and built. Your battery mod looks very tidy. I've generally stayed away from boards with Dallas RTC, but many good AT boards of the era have it (ASUS, Gigabyte, even TYAN) so I might …

Re: Zen - I knew it would kick butt!

Nope. They've already outsourced the chipset for Zen to ASMedia. :) Besides... like hell NVIDIA would do that today. :D Also AMD's stock finally begins to take off (well, hoping this is just the beginning). NVDA has been doing extremely good this year... how I wished I had found a way to invest a …
