Re: Zeckensack's Glide Wrapper

Beware of the ads though :dead: And as a Vogons exclusive, my humle Radeon 9200 sees a healthy improvement even in non-high res. The Carnivores test case now runs at 58 fps, with 31 fps on 0.82b. Quite a jump for the little bugger. Didn't want too much publicity on this one, because only R200 class …

Re: Zeckensack's Glide Wrapper

Re meself: Nah ... why not mark the pages write-only and catch the exception?! edit: Because ... Windows won't let me :sly: Link Oh well ... Can't believe I've missed this: Hmmmm, I've heard about the 6600 too. But my doubt is: This board is only for the new PCI-Express slot or exist one …

Re: 0.82b mega feedback

- Sports Car GT (EA) - bugs: menu is unusable as it shows no text/buttons/loading screens and the cursor leaves trails - but I managed to start a game: in-game it's near-perfect with only a black outline around the backdrop graphic but the menu makes the game unusable! Logged it, traced it, turned …

Re: Zeckensack's Glide Wrapper

Ok, Zeckensack. That's my machine specs: CPU: Athlon XP, 1.3 Ghz Video: GF 4 MX 440 -- 128 Mb Memory: 364 Mb Sound: SB Live OS: Windows XP That's the reason for the transparency problems :s-face: Chroma keying emulation isn't supported on Geforce 4MX. I only notice a slowdown at the WCP:SO, …

Re: 0.82b mega feedback

Ice, You're a hero. Thanks, man. *hug* GENERAL NOTE: often when games are installed as minimum install (as I tend to do) the procedure for detecting their .exe by searching for other files nearby won't work so the fixes are not applied. Examples include Need For Speed II SE and Speed Busters. NFS2: …

Re: Zeckensack's Glide Wrapper

Big thanks zeckensack! What about a Post-0.82 roadmappery. Is there still something left to improve? Lots, including uncompleted items from older roadmappery. Multitexturing would be great. Support for more graphics chips would be great. I'd very much like to get some reasonable i865G …

Re: Zeckensack's Glide Wrapper

0.82b is out. Fixes the mouse issues that have cropped up (again!) in Diablo 2 and Carmageddon 2. It also works better with Project64 + Glide64 plugin. Mipmap generation is faster by between 2 times (RGBA8888) and 4.5 times (8 bit luminance or alpha). And I had lots of fun writing these 813 lines …

Re: Zeckensack's Glide Wrapper

I don't know if this is the place to post it, but he really ought to use CRC/MD5/whatever hashes of the EXE files to recognize them if he wants to distinguish to games with the same EXE filenames. That way it would be clean and easy to provide a wizard to help the user create profiles. The only …

Re: Zeckensack's Glide Wrapper

The reason for the delay is Speed Busters. First things first, it runs smoothly and is absolutely playable. But there are some strange issues with window focus in the game that I really want to get resolved. If you first click on the menu screen, the game will lose focus and minimize. If you then …

Re: Zeckensack's Glide Wrapper

I'm confused. It's not a driver bug. In an external "testbed" app, where I use the exact same texture parameters I suspected to be responsible for this, everything works fine. And ATI and NVIDIA cards behave exactly the same, too. So it must be something else, most probably my fault after all, I …

Re: Zeckensack's Glide Wrapper

That was complicated ... I kept getting "Couldn't register EAR blabla" errors. I had to run the iasinst.exe first, but that would complain that I'd need at least *cough* DirectX5. Win95 compatibility on the iasinst fixed that. The game itself runs fine, but the sound system (which this whole iasinst …

Re: Zeckensack's Glide Wrapper

To Zeckensack: I noticed your report on Jane's blurry cockpits ( http://www.zeckensack.de/glide/ ) - perhaps this is the same issue affecting Boss Rally (in your wrapper the textures appear to be twice as low-res compared to Dege's wrapper/real Voodoo). No, that can't be it. The blurry cockpit …

Re: Zeckensack's Glide Wrapper

Sorry Zeck, I'm a bit in a hurry but I gave a quick test to GW 0.80c and boy does it run fast! NFS2 SE (demo) is unbelievably smooth on my P3@667 and GF2 Ti compared to OpenGlide and dgVoodoo. Only thing is, I can't seem to force the gamma I want, GW will automatically use a fixed (too bright) …

Re: Zeckensack's Glide Wrapper

0.80c is a very small change over 0.80b, but ... 0.80 completely broke usability on Geforce <=4 cards. It automatically assumed EXT_blend_func_separate functionality to be available on GL versions >=1.4. This is technically correct (it's a core feature in GL1.4), but the OpenGL driver then enters a …

Re: Zeckensack's Glide Wrapper

Hi again... In answer to your question: But how would I get of this mess if I want to put the DLLs into a system wide search path? Do it the ATI way, and add my install dir to the path? I'd rather not, if I don't absolutely need to ... The answer is you shouldn't! Now that's just grand. I'm not …
