Re: JOYSTICK ... favorite?

[Edit: I made a small correction to my earlier post in this thread...the exercise bike "controller" that I own is actually called the TimeRyder and it's made by Life Gear -- it's not called "LifeCycle" as I earlier posted]. My digital camera isn't working good right now, but here's a (bad) pic I …

Re: JOYSTICK ... favorite?

My "biggest" game controller is also my most unique: it's an exercise bicycle called TimeRyder Interactive Bike from Life Gear which has a multi-plugged connection cable that lets your pedalling control the speed/direction of characters (or cars or planes) for three different systems: PC, SNES, and …

Re: Anyone from FRANCE ? Help!

It's a game that 99% of gamers don't even want... ...but I don't want to mention the name publicly, since it's a bit hard to find, and it might cause someone to buy it before I can. If you live in France, and willing to help, please private message me and I'll give you all the details.

Anyone from FRANCE ? Help!

This post is to ask if there is a VOGONS member in France who could help me communicate with a Seller of an item located in France? The item I'm trying to buy is a simple game (on CD-ROM)...but when I responded to the online advertisement I got no response. It might be that the website filtered out …

Re: YELLOWED Plastic

This topic reminds me that a few years ago, I found a Sinclair ZX-80 which was in great shape -- except for yellowing on its case. I had a cannister of Bon Ami (powder-type cleanser containing crystallized bleach), so I gently scrubbed it into "like new" appearance (Bon Ami's motto is "Hasn't …

YELLOWED Plastic

I seem to remember that there is some product that is designed(?) to restore old yellowed computer plastic to it's original "whiter" appearance. Can anyone tell me the product's name? I know that anything containing bleach might help, but I'm wondering about a possibly better solution?

Re: Disturbing Evil-Bay practices...

One time, the Seller changed the postage cost of a simple (small) paper wall-poster from $4 to $10. The second time, a Seller changed the shipping on a simple Keyboard from $10 to over $47...just for shipping the keyboard! In both auctions, the Sellers and myself were, and are, residents of the USA …

Re: Disturbing Evil-Bay practices...

Actually, when I started this thread, I was intending to ask mostly about people's experiences with flaws in the eBay "system" -- but I'm getting mostly comments on people's thoughts about eBay's individual Sellers' behavior. But that's fine too. In fact, as long as we're talking about Seller …

Re: Disturbing Evil-Bay pracitces...

I agree that Asian sellers are usually extremely fair and cooperative. The vast majority of Sellers are fair...even though eBay has been making it harder on them to make a decent profit from their sales, with increased fees and such.

Re: Disturbing Evil-Bay pracitces...

Hmm haven't had bad experiences, mostly positives ones with disputes always going my way and getting my money back But, if you have a dispute, and have to go to the trouble of returning your item (AND paying the Return Shipping cost yourself)...is that really a "positive experience"? But I know …

Disturbing Evil-Bay practices...

Let me start things off by noting a disturbing practice of which many of you might not be aware: Did you know that eBay's checkout system actually allows the Seller -- *after* the auction ends -- to CHANGE (i.e., RAISE) the stated Shipping Cost at which you won your auction...WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE …
