I tried your suggestion. Most keys are reflected properly in the mapper.txt file. The problem keys which won't persist are all recorded as 'key 0'.

I have a similar issue with an HP desktop PC which I mentioned somewhere in this thread. You can re-map keys with CTRL-F1, but it is likely a few of them won't be retained from session to session and you will painfully have to remap them each session. HP sucks.

You can re-map keys in Dosbox by hitting CTRL-F1. I had the same problem (not a laptop though) and had to remap several keys. Dosbox thinks my backslash key is the right bracket. I'm using DOSbox 0.72 and running Vista Ultimate. Capture and playback works, although there is no sound. Edit: Nevermind, sound works, but midi music is not recorded. Is this behavior correct?

I take that last statement back. After changing the sample rate, the first time I launched the game I swore it still had some static in the sound, but later tries have not had any, so I guess it works. The sound still has some annyoing 'glitches' that seem to occur randomly during the character …

Yes, this is with Dosbox 0.72 Using SB16 with sample rate 44100 seems to work better than 22050, but does not eliminate all the static.

Exiting Windows 3.11 works for me. Try reinstalling it. Yes you can load/save games while playing under Dosbox.

I switched the game's audio from SB16 to SB Pro and that cleared up the static.

Your exe matches the one on my CD. The size, timestamp and CRC match. Yes, if I mount the actual disc and leave off the "-t cdrom" then it works as expected. I don't normally use my real discs though, I use image files to protect the originals.
