All I can say is that ΜΚ8330 is made exactly to datasheet specs when it comes to such connections some games will be OK - some won't , it's just how things are :\ there have been threads over the years trying to make sense of it, like this one: Reverse stereo on Sound Blaster Pro & compatibles

OK but these are all caused because of how the chip is designed , there is no real cure for these incompatibilities other than patches that "fix" the game drivers it is interesting though that crusader engine does the same with 2 different chips on different standards at least duke/doom offer option …

I have a weird bug. When using Ultramid I sometimes get hanging notes in Tyrian 2000. is that normal? I haven't had this so far - but ofcourse Tyrian sound system is so weird it would not surprise me to have more issues than we already know maybe it worths to test a different ram stick on your gus …

ah yes - I was thinking about orpheus2 gus implementation then ofcourse it is the SB-LineVol setting but keep in mind - games have the tendency to mess with the mixer values perhaps you can do the reverse: have LT going to GUS line-input -> no sb game will touch the interwave mixer settings

I am almost certain that adding a SOJ40 dram chip on the empty space at U8 will add some ram to the card if you find a 512kb x16 chip then you will get 1mb of ram and it will be enough for DOS gus classic stuff but I do not have such a card so there is always the chance it won't work - maybe someone …

you should really don't pay any real attention to the resources BIOSes allocate - they are most of the times the "wrong" ones and once drivers get loaded the desired good values are used BIOS just tries to enable all detected devices and allocate some combo of resources by reading the device tables …
