For me Blood runs a little more smoothly, in addition to other cpu-intensive games. It's only subtly smoother, though. If 'auto' was picking the normal core for something like Blood, I imagine it'd slow down quite dramatically. The dynamic core adds a pretty hefty amount of speed in my experience.

You could also simply install DOSBox in a folder other than Program Files. I have it installed in C:\DOSBox\ and Vista doesn't complain about access rights at all.

I believe fraps only captures Direct3D and OpenGL applications and games. DirectDraw is not the same thing as Direct3D. Have you tried OpenGL output? Also, DOSBox has a built-in video capture, using the ZMBV codec. Read the readme.txt file in the DOSBox/zmbv/ folder.

OpenGL is still accelerated fine in Vista. You just need to use drivers from NVIDIA or ATI/AMD. It's just the stock drivers that don't properly support OpenGL.
