Re: how do I delete my dosbox account?

Yes, because out of the many thousands of games that work fine with Dosbox, you managed to pick the handful that don't work properly. That makes much more sense than you configured them incorrectly. If you need help, ask decent questions after you have read the manual and the applicable guides, and …

Re: Command HQ Windows 7, x64 not compatible

I'm one of the the few Command HQ players left on the planet. A few of the other players have upgraded to Windows 7 and seem to have problems with dos box running Command HQ. Anyone have any suggestions? Not sure if its Dos-Box or something with their setup or something with the game? Hoping …

Re: Pasting from Window

You can technically accomplish simple paste with a product like AutoIt: http://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit/ However, it won't give you cut capability. There are a huge number of reasons this is a terrible idea for DosBox, but we can start with just one significant one: there was no cut and …

Re: Advice needed

It is possible that SDL "lost" a release keystroke. It has been known to happen in some circumstances. It's consistent with the behavior you describe (the system thinks something like Shift is held down, because for whatever reason SDL missed the event when you stopped holding it from the game). …

Re: More than one core for DOSBOX?

Be pretty cool to use Multiple Core's at least isolating video I/O to one core essentially making one core be the video card emulator. Really depends on DosBox's architecture as to how painful it might be to make into a reality and I have not explored much of DOSBox's code at this point in time. …

Re: Can't init SDL No available video device

Is there a way to disable the video output? Not reasonably (without writing code). As has been suggested so many many times here, if you have an application that is not a game, and requires DOS mode, there are a variety of exceptional free programs to complete your task (DOSEMU, Bochs, VirtualPC + …

Re: Qemm on the DosBos

You could try either QEMU or Bochs, both of which are attempts to fully emulate a processor (not virtualize it). There are some google results of people getting QEMM running under Virtualbox, just not version 7.5.

Re: Qemm on the DosBos

There's no game I know of that requires DesqView. If you are trying to run BBS software or something like that which does require it, you'd be much better off using a virtual machine emulator (VMware, VirtualBox, etc). I doubt Dosbox will be the best choice here, because instead of striving to …

Re: Qemm on the DosBos

You should have no need to do this that I can think of, unless you have some specific example game that requires it. QEMM filled two primary roles for most DOS users: it provided a DOS advaned memory API (protected mode/ems/xms) and attempted to remap used areas of the DOS stack into the 384K "high …

Re: SOUND FAILURE!!! HELP !!

As Dominus suggests, setting the sound in your emulated game doesn't affect the sound in Windows (just how loud Dosbox tries to play it). Even windows XP has a channel test built in, so try that. An example of walking through a sound diagnostic is here : http://www.pcauthorities.com/windows-xp/how- …

Re: More accurate MUNT (MT32 emulation) patch

This is a great little patch ykhwong. I just fired up several of the Origin games and I had a great time with the better music. It seems to run fine on my main machine, my clunky old box though was having issues with buffer starvation in MUNT, although CPU usage didn't really show maxed out, seemed …

Re: DOSShark for DOSbox 0.74

Hi, I wrote a cheat-code system for DOSBox, currently it only works with version 0.74 for win32 and I thought I might as well share it with the forums. The cheat codes are in a gameshark style, and should be interchangeable with future version of DOSShark. Thanks for your contribution! Just a …
