Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

@thegeneralpanda: first you need to add SVN Daum in the 'DosBox versions' tab of the main window (next to the 'Profiles' tab). Then in the general tab of the profile editing window of the game (not the general preferences) you have to choose the appropriate version of DosBox you want to use. A small …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

I was wondering, is there one giant archive of configuration files that I can download off the net, that I can import into DBGL? You know....so that I can simply run most games without having to manually configure each one? You should make a template and then use it as default, so that you won't …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

While you shouldn't edit the profile's conf files yourself manually (as that is DBGL's job) for reasons you mention, it is perfectly ok to have a 'special DOSBox build' configured in DBGL with your highly specific experimental features enabled in its dosbox.conf. Then, if you create a profile based …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

Hello, I'll repost a couple of suggestions I made some times ago and that have been ignored.. maybe it's silly, but I think they would improve the flexibility and usability of DBGL. * a direct command line option that bypasses DosBox (useful to run some modern ports like for Doom or Descent games, …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

If you want to create a filter with some games, select multiple games with Ctrl+click, then press Ctrl+F, you'll have a filter with those game IDs. Other filtering options are: GAM.FAVORITE=true CUST1.VALUE='x' YR.YEAR < 1990 UPPER(DEV.NAME) LIKE '%x%' UPPER(PUBL.NAME) LIKE '%x%' UPPER(GEN.NAME) …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

Hello, I'd have a couple of minor UI suggestions: 1. the context menu is a bit cluttered, in the GUI options ability to select which elements to show and which not (with checkbox) 2. also I'd like if you could give a custom name to the alternative executables in the 'mounting' screen, so that in the …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

Very nice :) by the way I had some problems in upgrading. If I chose the gallery view, the list was blank. I had to export my profiles, delete the old db dir and import them again, then it worked. I still have the old db dir if you want to check what was wrong with it. I think it has to do with …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

Since you updated options for yhkwong, maybe you can add an option in the 'experimetal' I/O section to use official DOSBox keyboard behaviour (key delay setting). I often put 'mode con rate=32 delay=2' in the 'At Start' section of 'DOSBox [autoexec]' commands to do this when using yhkwong build, …

MT-32 format soundfont

Hi, I made a soundfont that uses MT-32's standard, so that one can run in standard DOSBox (without MUNT) games that support the MT-32 and not the GM, and get good sounds. Only problem is that you don't get the sound effects (just instruments), but it works well for games like Wizardry 7 or Realms of …

yhkwong's build and keyboard sensitivity

Hello, I've a problem with yhkwong's build in that the keybord is too sensitive. In normal DosBox (and gulikoza's build) when a key is kept pressed there's a relatively long delay between the first sent input and the next ones. In yhkwong's build this delay is very short, and it's very easy to …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

Thanks then. I'm wondering if it won't be much slower than zip even in decompression though. With zip it doesn't need to extract the whole archive to get something inside, with 7z it does (at least on win), so maybe it won't be that good if this will happen. Thanks anyway, whatever you'll decide …
