Look up Gravis Ultrasound game patches where they insert ail drivers, might be able to replace the GUS AILs for some of them and then you'll have patches for those games. Dune II has a GUS patch.

In Dos performance you meant to say :D They do go faster in Windows Direct3D, but at a certain point nvidia falls off in DOS performance, and it gets so bad that the older nvidia cards end up far better at dos than the newer ones. I've seen this myself, my geforce 2 ultra card is roughly +60% …

That's a tired refrain, there are a slew of games for download that are available with the owners blessing now days. There's a thread on vogons cataloging such games, it has amassed to quite a collection now.

Intel is months away from releasing their next chip, broadwell, I would hold off until those come out. There's cheap unlocked dual cores, six and eight cores, and of course 4 cores. 14nm, vrm off die onto the motherboard again, and much faster integrated gpu, less power usage and heat, expectation …

XP 32 bit under VirtualBox 4.3.10 r9301 on above 3570k, caveat of pixel shader test doesn't render correctly and point sprites crashes.

If you mean 2001se, it complains about needing 128mb of video memory even though there's 2.3gb available and changes colors scheme but otherwise runs all the way though.

Higher pixel and bandwidth, lower texel. I'm thinking the way to do it would be to get the fastest AGP card and match it with a PCI-e version, compare pii? iii to present.
